Burke Centre Festival

The boys look forward to our annual tradition of going to the Burke Center Festival where they go down slides, climb walls and where we look at local craft booths.

 Victor was thrilled to ride a poney for the first time!

We went to an emergency preparedness booth where Adam and Antoine got pretend wounds painted on their cheeks... just in case you were wondering what had happened!

Back to school...

 Adam and Antoine are thrilled with their new teachers... Adam starting 4th grade and Antoine 1st grade... I am so glad they both enjoy going to school!

First day of school

And we have a... WINNER!

Adam participated for the second year at the Cub Scout Rain-gutter Regatta. Last year, we assemble the kit that was provided and following the instructions on the box... not knowing that one could upgrade the boat to improve its speed... Needless to say that Adam's boat did not so well.

So this year, we watched YouTube videos on how to make changes on the boat and how to blow to win the competition... Mark and Adam's work was successful since Adam came #1!!

A little review of the event:

 Last minute repair as one of the gutters was too narrow for the trimaran boats this year.

Shawn's boat - the Shark - won first place

On the way home, Mark was explaining to Adam that his blowing technique was what took him to first place as some other boats were pretty well made too. Adam ended up making this conclusion: "A good ship needs a good captain!"

Summer fun...

 We spend the day at our friend Margaret's house and enjoyed her pool! The boys had such a blast in their "own pool"!

Reunited again!

Antoine in France

Antoine spent two months in France and had a blast going to school, spending time with my nieces, meeting distant cousins.... My parents took him many places and spoiled him!

 

Antoine made friends at school right away and had no problem adjusting to French school... One of the highlights were a field trip to a safari zoo and a visit to a neighboring farm.

 

It is so fun to have cousins to play with... from riding a pony to water-skying and sailing a boat, going to school carnivals, and pretending to cross the jungle... 

 Antoine and Maelis had a great time too at the beach, picking up crabs and climbing boulders

 

It was time to come home after 2 months of fun and Antoine flew back on his own!
