A new school year, a new start!

Antoine could not wait to start Kindergarten... Here he is at the school open house meeting his teacher Mrs. Lind and finding out that his friend from preschool last year was in his class this year again!

 

"I can't wait to go to school!"

Adam started 3rd but at a new school in the Advance Academics Program... A new start for him too!

Waiting for the bus on first day of school... Bottom left: Victor is roaring like a lion...

Toddlerhood...

I guess he has figured out how to twist open the baby powder bottle... =)

Victor has an amazing disposition and is very obedient and compliant... However (and we would probably worry if it did not happen) he has an occasional melt down... I don't think I have ever taken pictures of him crying and being upset so I had to this time just for the record...

Em was brave enough to take the 4 kids to the zoo by herself!!


Em and Carlo spent a couple of days touring DC by bus first and then by bike...

They ended their stay with a fun-full 2 day trip to New York... You don't come all the way from France without discovering NYC, right?

Back in time...

Someone told me a few months ago about Claude Moore Colonial Farm in McLean and when I look it up online I discovered that there was a Summer Festival while Em and Carlo were going to be here...

We all had a wonderful time discovering the tradesmen and learning how they used to make soap, baskets, whool, ropes...etc.

A HOT day in Annapolis!

We spent our first Saturday with my family showing them Annapolis and tasting its famous Maryland Crab cakes! We then headed to Sandy Point for a super fun afternoon at the beach...

Celebrations!

Emmanuelle, Carlo and Zelie had barely arrived with Adam that we started the celebrations of the 4th of July!!

After an American feast with Hamburgers, tri-color salad, corn of the cob and giant festive cookie pie, we headed to DC to watch the fireworks on the Mall... I was quite hesitant taking our young kids to the crowd not knowing how late we would be getting back home. Mark convinced me that we had to do it since it would be the only chance for my family to see the fireworks in DC!

It was definitely worth going!

 

Mark and the boys had purchased some fireworks so we waited until the next evening to light them up...
